Engagement Photography in Jacksonville, FL
Relaxed, directed engagement sessions at the beach, downtown, in Riverside or indoors.
I'm a photographer and visual artist based in Jacksonville, FL. Engagement photos are often the first time a couple works with a photographer together, so they should feel relaxed and useful. I take the time to understand your vision before we ever pick up a camera, then combine classic portraiture techniques with contemporary styling. It's where technical skill meets alternative vision.

What your session is like
- A short planning conversation first: the mood you want, where you are getting married if you already know, what you are comfortable with and what you absolutely do not want
- The first ten or fifteen minutes are warm-up. Almost every couple is stiff at the start, and that is completely normal
- We start with movement: walking together, talking to each other, reacting to something one of you said
- You are given direction, not rigid poses
- One hour is enough for a single location, one outfit and a solid gallery. Two hours gives you room for a second location or an outfit change
Where and when to shoot
Jacksonville Beach and Neptune Beach give you open coastline, soft warm light and a romantic, airy feel. Downtown gives you texture, hard lines, murals and contrast. Riverside and Avondale sit between the two, with tree canopy, brick and older architecture. Indoor and studio-style sessions suit couples who want something moodier, more controlled and completely independent of the weather.
The hour after sunrise and the hour before sunset carry the warm, low, flattering light most couples are picturing. Seasonally, October through April is the most comfortable and the most reliable. Frequently asked questions
How long does an engagement session take?
A typical Jacksonville engagement session runs one to two hours. If you want both beach and downtown in the same session, plan for two hours and factor in drive time between them.
How many photos do we get?
Your gallery includes every high-resolution, fully edited image from the session rather than a capped number.
Do we need to know how to pose?
No. You are given direction, not rigid poses, and the session starts with movement so you can warm up.
When should we book?
Most couples book their engagement session four to eight months before the wedding. That leaves enough room for editing and printing if you want the images on save-the-dates, a wedding website or guest-book prints.
